Iceland's popularity was having a serious effect on its nature. Our job was to get tourists to travel beyond the well-trod "Golden Circle" and out into the other regions. There was just one problem: most of these areas were so untraveled not even Google knew about them.

So we created Ask Gudmundur  - "the world's first human search engine," to help people find them. 

Then just like Google, we expanded, creating real-life Gudmundur Hangouts and Gudmundur Mobile.

Thanks to the campaign, the number of tourists to these outer regions shot up by 207,183, which contributed about

$39.6 million to the Icelandic economy. President Obama approved!
